As deforestation – especially in the tropics-- continues and population keeps increasing, which in turn creates a greater demand for timber products, pressure over the timber business to improve their management procedures becomes more evident. Madera Viva plans to continue to be instrumental in providing solutions for better forest management and sees the emerging timberland investments and commercial reforestation programs as a promising tool for financing sustainable forest management.
